Can a Mass General Brigham Care Connect virtual provider be my long-term primary care provider (PCP)?
Yes! If you want a mostly virtual primary care experience, please inform your clinician during your visit or call 617-648-5822. Our support team will guide you through the next steps. You may need to update your PCP information with your insurance provider.
I want a traditional, in-office PCP, but can I use Mass General Brigham Care Connect temporarily until I see them?
Absolutely! If you don’t have an appointment yet or need care before your new PCP visit, Mass General Brigham Care Connect is a great way to get care until you meet your long-term provider.
I’m currently seeing a specialist. Can I continue seeing them?
Yes. Any Mass General Brigham provider, including specialists, will have full access to your electronic medical records—office notes, hospital records, labs, and imaging—to ensure coordinated care.
What if I need to be seen in person?
Your virtual care provider will be able to answer most of your questions and address most needs through video visits. However, if you require in-person care, another member of your care team will see you at one of our many urgent care centers or regional clinics.
What if I need labs, imaging, or other testing?
During your video visit, your virtual care provider can order any necessary labs, imaging, or other tests, which you can complete at a convenient location.
Will Mass General Brigham Connect be covered by my insurance?
Like all other visits, insurance coverage is verified when you register for your appointment. If there are any problems, the Care Connect team will contact you. We recommend checking with your insurance company to confirm coverage.
Is this visit more or less expensive compared to an in-person visit?
Costs are generally similar. Mass General Brigham Care Connect visits are billed to your insurance like other primary care visits.
